If you're going to diss the wooden bat, though, them's fighting words. The -ping- of college baseball's aluminum bats are quite annoying. The ball needs a good wooden thwock. :)

No! No! No! :) I'm not suggesting aluminum bats at all. Those darn maple things keep exploding, in fact one of my Pirates coaches has a pretty messed up side of his face as a result of one. What I meant by "maple bats" is that I'd like to see the players go back to using the Ash bats. I don't remember those things blowing up nearly as much. Over a month ago I remember watching our second baseman practice swinging before stepping up to the plate and during one of the swings his maple bat shattering. Just last night a bunch of guys over the home dugout in Comiskey... errr U.S. Crapular Park, lose their beers to a flying piece of a maple bat. That's just sinful in my opinion!

If we do ever go to aluminum then we need new parks at least 500 deep. I still don't understand why Triple A allows those things... just isn't the same game.

I will prepend to your list. The #1 Stupid thing about Major League Baseball... the fan.

Very good point. That said, I live in one of the smallest club markets and can get excellent seats inexpensively as a result. Perhaps that's why cost didn't come to my mind until you mentioned it. I do seriously wish the league would implement a per-team salary cap, similar to the NHL's. The benefits are just too numerous to count.
